What are pipe plugs

As the name suggests, pipe plugs are threaded plugs that are used to seal the ends of pipes so that fluids cannot flow through them. There are a number of industries and areas in which they are used, including domestic plumbing and construction, hydraulics, gas and oil transportation, agriculture, food and beverage manufacturing, and industrial chemical processing.

HOW DO PIPE PLUGS WORK? ________________

In general, pipe plugs are cylindrical metal fittings with a taperthreaded shaft on one end and a drive section on the other end of the fitting. There is a slight cone profile to tapered threads, which causes the male and female threads to compress against each other, forming a tight seal between the male and female threads

PIPE PLUGS VS. PIPE CAPS ________________

There are male threads on pipe plugs and they are screwed internally into the end of the pipe as they are threaded. On the other hand, pipe caps are equipped with female threads and are screwed onto the outside of the pipe using a screwdriver.

PIPE PLUGS VS. DRAIN PLUGS ________________

Despite the fact that drain plugs and pipe plugs are similar products, the thread specifications of their threads vary from one another.

WHEN SHOULD YOU USE A THREADED PIPE PLUG? ________________

In most cases, plumbers will need to endstop pipes using threaded pipe plugs in order to prevent leaks from forming. As well as convenient, durable, and easy to install and remove with a wide variety of tools, they are also easy to maintain.

HOW TO MEASURE PIPE FITTINGS __________________

Because of inconsistencies in the designations of pipe thread sizes and the sizes of pipe plugs, it can be difficult to choose a pipe plug that is the appropriate size for a particular pipe.

HOW TO CHOOSE A PIPE PLUG __________________

There are six important factors to consider when choosing a pipe plug: the size of the threads, the type of thread, the drive, the standard specifications, the material, and the finishing of the plug.
