The mechanical properties of grade 5 titanium tubes are also excellent at high temperatures. In most cases, it tends to irritate and isn’t recommended to be used for wear applications. In terms of high strength titanium alloys, Grade 5 titanium tube is one of the most widely used. It is classified as an alpha-beta alloy as it is an alpha-beta alloy. Despite its strong mechanical properties and low density (4.42 kg/dm3), the alloy still exhibits excellent corrosion resistance even in the presence of alkaline, chemical and chlorides concentrates owing to its excellent corrosion resistance.

In accordance with ASTM B558 Titanium Grade 5 Seamless Tubes, the tubes can be fully heat treated in sections less than 25 mm and are suitable for use up to approximately 400°C. In addition to giving an improvement in ductility and fracture toughness, this procedure also reduces the mechanical strength of the steel. In addition to the fracture-critical airframe structures and offshore tubing, UNS R56400 Gr5 Ti Alloy Tubes are typically used in many other applications as well.

In the field of marine and offshore oil and gas extraction, titanium Ti-6Al-4V tubes provide excellent resistance to many elements. There is a wide range of acid conditions that titanium and its alloys can resist. Titanium is highly resistant to oxidising acids, possesses useful resistance to reducing acids and has a good ability to resist most organic acids at lower concentrations and temperatures. A titanium tube made of grade 5 titanium Ti-6Al-4V is not suitable for use when red fuming nitric acid is present, and it is quickly attacked by hydrofluoric acid as well.
