Stainless Steel 317/317L/317H Sheets have a high molybdenum content to offer excellent strength. Its chemical stability exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, such as resistance to acetic acid, sulfuric solution, chloride corrosion, etc. Due to its high strength, it can withstand heavy-duty applications. SS 317 Sheets are excellent for formability, pitting resistance, crevice corrosion resistance, intergranular corrosion, etc.
In comparison to SS 317, stainless steel 317/317L/317H sheets have a lower amount of chromium but offer a higher fatigue resistance. What are the Stainless Steel 317/317L/317H Sheets?
Stainless Steel 317/317L/317H Sheets are highly durable, high-performance austenitic stainless steel sheets that are designed to resist corrosion and offer excellent strength and durability despite harsh environmental conditions.
The main difference between 317, 317L, and 317H is the amount of carbon they contain. There is a lower carbon content in 317L than in 317, which makes it more resistant to sensitization and intergranular corrosion compared to 317. Compared to 317, 317H has a higher carbon content, which means that it is more durable at high temperatures due to its higher carbon content.
As a result of the combination of chrome, nickel, and molybdenum used in making these sheets, they provide excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength. In the chemical and petrochemical industries, pulp and paper production, and in the food and beverage industry, they are commonly used in the production of chemicals and petrochemicals.
