The Purohit Pipe Industries is the world’s largest Exporter, supplier, and exporter of Stainless Steel 309S Plates. As per national and international quality standards, we Exporter these sheets and plates with different surface finishes, end finishes, dimensions, shapes, sizes, specifications, and thicknesses and provide them to clients in cut-made specifications as per their expectations. Among the types of plates and sheets available are polished plates, hot-rolled plates, cold-rolled plates, shim sheets, and chequered plates.
An austenitic steel with outstanding oxidation resistance, high-temperature strength, and creep resistance, stainless steel 309S Plates can be fabricated and machined readily. SS 309S Plates have a lower nickel content and are more resistant to sulfur attack at high temperatures. Stainless Steel 309S Plates are tough and ductile, and they can be easily machined and fabricated. Compared to 304 stainless steel, Stainless Steel 309S Plates have high corrosion resistance and strength.
A stainless steel UNS S309S00 Plate is hot worked at 1177 degrees Celsius (2150 degrees Fahrenheit), reheated at 982 degrees Celsius (1800 degrees Fahrenheit), and then quenched rapidly. A post-work annealing can restore its corrosion resistance.
Stainless Steel 309S Plates are the lower carbon version of grade 309S and provide excellent forming and welding characteristics. They are easily weldable with any resistance and fusion method. SS UNS S309S00 Sheets are recommended for applications where sensitization and corrosion by high-temperature gases or condensates during shutdown may pose a problem. Stainless Steel 309S Plates can be used for boiler baffles, furnace components, oven linings, fire box sheets, and other high-temperature containers. The sheets and plates have high tensile strength, high toughness, ductility, durability, and stability at high temperatures, among other properties. To ensure our clients receive damage-free products, we provide various test certificates in accordance with EN 10204/3.1B, 100% radiography test reports, third-party test reports, raw material certificates, etc.

What are the Stainless Steel 309S Plates?
Stainless Steel 309S Plates are a type of austenitic stainless steel that contains high amounts of chromium and nickel, along with a lower amount of carbon, making them an ideal choice for highly corrosive environments. They are intended for use in high-temperature environments, such as furnaces, heat treatment equipment, and chemical processing plants where they are required to stand up to high temperatures. There is a 309S grade of stainless steel, a variation of the 309 stainless steel alloy, with a higher carbon content, and lower chromium content. As a result, it makes it more suitable for applications that require oxidation resistance at high temperatures. There are a number of advantages to using stainless steel 309S plates, including their excellent corrosion resistance, strength, and formability. Among the industries where they are commonly used are aerospace, automotive, construction, oil and gas, and the oil and gas industry.

Applications And Uses
Our 309S Stainless Steel Plates are used in a wide range of industries and applications. Some of them are listed below:
There are many applications for stainless steel plates in many industries. The material is commonly used for boiler baffles, furnace components, oven linings, and firebox sheets. Chemically, 309S stainless steel plates are frequently used in environments that endure high heat, such as incinerators, rotary kilns, and calciners in waste treatment facilities. The grades of stainless steel are also useful in paper mill equipment, petroleum refining, catalytic recovery systems and recuperates. Another application for this stainless steel plate is power generation.
In pulverized coal burners and tube hangers, it can be used. Additionally, it is used in grids, piping, and wind boxes of fluidized bed furnaces. This stainless steel plate is commonly used in thermal processing, such as annealing covers, boxes, grids, doors, fans, lead pans, neutral salt pots, muffles, retorts, and walking beams. There are many applications for this type of plate in which high temperatures must be tolerated. In addition to oven and stove parts, this type of plate is extensively used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. This stainless steel plate has a wide range of applications in the higher temperature range due to its chemical composition.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Stainless Steel 309S Plates?
There are several advantages and disadvantages to using stainless steel 309S plates:
These advantages include:
- In addition to being highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation in high-temperature environments, Stainless Steel 309S Plates are specifically designed to perform well in environments with a high temperature, where they can maintain their strength and resistance to oxidation.
- Stainless Steel 309S Plates offer excellent corrosion resistance, thus making them suitable for use in harsh environments where corrosion may be a problem.
- There is a high tensile strength and yield strength in Stainless Steel 309S Plates, making them suitable for use in applications where strength is a critical factor.
- Stainless Steel 309S Plates are easy to fabricate and form, making them an excellent choice for a wide range of applications for which they can be used.
Its disadvantages include:
- Due to the high levels of nickel and chromium in Stainless Steel 309S Plates, this type of stainless steel is more expensive than other types of stainless steel.
- Stainless Steel 309S Plates may be difficult to weld, due to their high carbon content, which makes them difficult to weld. As a result, they may require preheating and postweld heat treatment in order to prevent cracking and distortion during the welding process.
- Due to their high strength and hardness, Stainless Steel 309S Plates can be challenging to machine due to their high strength and hardness. In order to machine them, it may be necessary to use special tools and techniques.
- The 309S Stainless Steel Plates can be susceptible to stress corrosion cracking in certain environments, such as those containing chlorides, as a result of the presence of stress corrosion.
