DETAILED INFORMATION
As a leading Exporter, exporter, and supplier of high-quality 2205 Duplex Plates, Purohit Pipe Industries is the world’s leading supplier of duplex stainless steel grades (ferritic and austenitic). Duplex 2205 Plates / Sheets / Coils offered by us find applications due to their excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. They are made from high-quality standard raw materials and follow national and international guidelines to Exporter. Duplex Steel S31803 Plates should be forged at 1100 degrees Celsius to 1250 degrees Celsius, reheated as necessary, and cooled in the still air as needed. By combining 22 % chromium, 3 % molybdenum, and 5 % – 6 % of a nickel alloy, Duplex Stainless Steel UNS S31803 Perforated Sheets are a two-phase, ferritic, and austenitic steel.
In addition to providing better corrosion resistance with our Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Plates, much of the Duplex Steel currently produced also meets Duplex S31803. In the meantime, we produce high-quality Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Plates that have a blended microstructure of austenite and ferrite, resulting in a 50/50 blend, despite the fact that the blend in business composites may be 40/60 individually.
Approximately 80% of the duplex stainless steel market is occupied by 2205 duplex plates, the most commonly used duplex stainless steel. With its higher yield strength, 2205 alloy provides a higher degree of corrosion resistance in various environments where 316L is normally used. In order to ensure that the shipped product is free from detrimental phases such as sigma, all 2205 alloys are metallographically examined. In addition to welded pipes and tubular components, this alloy has also been applied as formed and welded sheet products in environments with high resistance to general corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking.

General Characteristics :
- The PREN value 34 (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number: %Cr + 3.3%Mo + 16*%N)
- It is made of extra low-carbon duplex stainless steel,
- Its yield strength is almost twice as great as that of austenitic stainless steel.
- In as-welded conditions, there is minimal intergranular corrosion.
- In chloride- and hydrogen-sulfide-containing environments, it has strong resistance to SCC.
- Corrosion fatigue resistance, pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, and erosion-corrosion resistance.
Machinability :
- The procedure for cutting AISI 316 with high-speed steel tools is the same as for AISI 304.
- Roughing with carbide-tipped tools should be 40% slower than machining with AISI 316, and finishing should be 20% slower.
Fabricability :
- For AISI 304L and 316L, nearly twice as much force is required to initiate plastic deformation.
- The plastic deformation of austenitic stainless steel is as easy as that of austenitic steel.
- There is no need to heat treat it after cold bending it to 25% deformation.
- If the service conditions are prone to SCC, bending should be followed by annealing.
- Following hot bending, quench annealing should be performed in the range of 950-1100 degrees Celsius.
- When expanding its tubes, normal expanding methods can be employed, but a higher initial force is required and the expansion must be completed in one step.
Weldability :
- The material can be welded easily using Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
- A heat input of 0.5-2k1/mm is recommended
- A maximum temperature of 150 degrees Celsius should be maintained at the interface.
- It is usually not necessary to perform a pre-weld or post-weld heat treatment.
- Over-alloyed filler metals such as E2209 are typically over-alloyed with nickel.
- It is possible to weld carbon steels, other stainless steels, and nickel alloys.
Corrosion Resistance :
- Compared to AISI 316L and 317L, it has a better general corrosion resistance
- As per ASTM A262 Practice E-Strauss Test, welded joints easily pass intergranular corrosion testing.
- At higher temperatures and chloride contents, 304 and 316 are more resistant to pitting and crevice attack.
- 2205 is highly corrosion fatigue and erosion/corrosion resistant due to its high strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance.
Testings (Destructive, Non-Destructive):
- Testing for Positive Material Identification (PMI)
- Analyses of chemical composition – spectroscopy
- Tests such as tensile, elongation, and reduction in area
- Tests at the micro level
- Testing macros
- Test of hardness
- Testing for Pitting Resistance
- Test for intergranular corrosion (IGC)
- Testing for flares
- The flattening test
- Test of hydrostatic pressure
- Hydrogen-Induced Cracking Test (HIC), NACE TM0284
- Sulfur Stress Corrosion Cracking (SSC), NACE TM 0177
- Test of radiography
- Test for dye penetration (DP Test)
- UT (Ultra Sonic Test)
- Testing with Eddy Currents
- Test of Impact
- Testing for bends
